The European Literacy Policy Network ELINET was initiated to gather and analyze policy information; exchange policy approaches, good practice, and initiatives and raise awareness of the importance of acting now to reduce the number of children, young people and adults with low literacy skills by 2020.
ELINET is formed of 77 partner organizations from 28 countries. Among them are Jyväskylä University, The Finnish Reading Centre and FinRA.
The network has received funding from the European Commission to complete a two year program. During this time, it will develop tools that can be used by different members as well as supporting existing and encouraging new activities.
